Shepherd Nyakudya is the founder of Optus Glean, Ireland's commercial cleaning and facilities management specialist. He leads operations across all 26 counties, working with hotels, healthcare, corporate, retail, education, and construction clients. As a Garda-vetted operator, he writes from on-the-ground operational experience — every guide on this site reflects work his team actually does. Optus Glean is registered with the Companies Registration Office of Ireland (CRO 813541) and operates from Glaslough, Co. Monaghan.
What I Focus On
- Operations across all 26 counties — from Dublin commercial blocks to Cork hospitals to Galway hotels, with locally-resourced teams and centrally-managed quality assurance.
- Garda-vetted teams as standard — every operative is vetted through the National Vetting Bureau before being assigned to a client site, regardless of sector. Garda vetting is a non-negotiable in our recruitment process.
- HIQA-aligned IPC training for healthcare contracts — all healthcare cleaning operatives are trained to HIQA infection prevention and control standards before stepping onto a clinical site.
- Hotel, hospitality, and corporate contracts — daily and periodic cleans for hotels, B&Bs, and corporate offices, with weekend and night-cleaning rotations to suit operational hours.
- Education and childcare premises — school cleaning, creche cleaning, and university residence work where vetting, allergen handling, and child-safe chemicals matter.
- Documentation-backed delivery — method statements, COSHH data sheets, RAMS documents, and digital quality audits are part of every contract, not an upsell.
About the Parent Company
Optus Glean is owned by Fine Content Limited, the parent company that also operates USLLCGlobal, a separate venture that helps non-US residents form US LLCs and obtain EINs without a Social Security Number. The two businesses share back-office infrastructure but operate as distinct brands serving different markets — Optus Glean for Irish facilities and cleaning contracts, USLLCGlobal for international company-formation services.
Running both businesses gives me a useful operational perspective: Optus Glean sells time, people, and consistency on the ground in Ireland; USLLCGlobal sells process, compliance, and documentation across borders. The discipline of the second informs the delivery of the first. The cleaning industry in Ireland has historically under-invested in documentation and process — that is the gap we are closing.
Why I Built Optus Glean
I started Optus Glean because facilities managers across Ireland kept telling me the same thing: they could not find a cleaning company that combined consistent quality, proper documentation, vetted staff, and transparent reporting. The large multinationals were too expensive and inflexible. The small operators were undocumented and inconsistent. There was a gap in the middle, and Optus Glean was built to fill it.
Every page on this site reflects that operational reality. The pricing guides reflect what we actually charge. The HIQA, IPC, and Garda vetting guides reflect work our team does on healthcare and education contracts every week. The post-construction and end-of-tenancy guides reflect jobs we have priced and delivered. Nothing on this site is content marketing in the bad sense — it is the operational knowledge that runs the business, written down.
